Morten's birthday

So, I just realized today that I haven't put updates on in like a month and a half, I figured now that I FINALLY found a computer that I can use for awhile, I might as well take advantage of it and fill you in.  Around the 12th of January, I went to my friend Morten´s birthday party in El Dorado, a fairly large town about 2 hours south of IguazĂș.  When I arrived at the El dorado bus station (the ticket was only about $3 USD!)  I didn't find my friend at first.  He had told me he would just wait for me there, and then we would go to his house.  If he had forgotten, I would be in quite a predicament;  I didn't have a cell phone, know his number, or his address.  So, I just waited for about 15 or 20 minutes, to be safe.  after about 15 minutes, he finally showed up, running and out of breath. (apparently he was cooking with his hostsister and forgot all about it until about 5 minutes before he arrived)  So, after briefly catching up, we took a bus to his house a few kilometers away.  For the first few hours, we just kind of chilled at his pool, played guitar, and talked.  Little by little, people were coming in.  By about 10, everyone had arrived.  there were maybe 15 or 16 people, half argentinians and half exchange students; a russian boy, a german boy, a girl from norway, a german(?) girl, and a canadian boy. After a few hours of chatting, we turned on the music, busted out the drinks, and got to partyin'.  I must say, having all those exchange students TOTALLY made that party.  All those languages, crazy people, poorly translated jokes, etc.  We heated up some hamburgers (like 20) and devoured them in minutes.  I gave my camera to one of the argentinian girls and asked her to take some good pictures (I'm not much of a picture-taking person)  The rest of the night consisted of (perhaps dangerous, but insanely fun) pool games/fun in general, card games, and some good conversation.  Highlights included: Igor throwing tons of shit in the pool (people, more people, chairs, dogs, bottles,) us throwing Igor in the pool, a 5am hotdog run in a van with 4 seats and 7 people, and some crazy games of chicken in the pool.  I went to sleep at about 7am, and it was around then that (mostly) everyone left.  Kevin (the canadian) was staying, and so was I, so there was the 2 of us and Morten sleeping in morten's room.  I woke up around 10 or 11 (I slept on the floor) and, being insanely hungry and thirsty, drank about a quart of water, and shared nearly a whole brick of cheese and 2 rows of crackers with kevin and morten.  A little bit later, after i finally found my clothes, which I had set out to dry after Igor threw me in the pool.  After searching the entire house, I found my flip-flops and not my camera.  We texted the girl who had it, and she said she didn't remember where it was.  Damn.  Later, after we ate "lunch," Kevin decided that he was going to make a chicken incubator for morten as a birthday present, and I told him I would help.  So around 1 or 2, we took a bus to his house in montecarlo, a town about 15 minutes south of El Dorado.  I met his very nice host family, and we went out to by the parts.  We returned with 2 enormous planks of wood (for the walls).  after several hours of (mostly unnecesary) planning, eating some food, and using the computer, we finally got to working.  After about 30 minutes of working, he decided he would finish it later.  We had planned on going to a girl's going away party in Puerto Esperanza that night (I didn't know the girl, but hey, a party´s a party).  So we left for El Dorado at maybe 7.  Upon arriving, we didn't see Morten anywhere.  We were dropped of in the outskirts of town, on the highway, where we were told another bus would come for us in a few minutes.  It did come (thank God) and we arrived in Puerto Esperanza in about an hour.  We waited at the bus station for about 45 minutes until Morten finally arrived, and then went to the party.  It was a pretty good party; a rented place packed full of people(mostly girls), pretty loud music, and free drinks(!).  After about an hour or two, I became EXREMELY tired (Keep in mind that the night before I had slept for about 3 hours, and it was already around 1 or 2 in the morning)  I kind of fell asleep on a bench, with kevin continually waking me up, reminding me of how many girls were here.  After a certain point of fatigue, you just don't care about stuff anymore.  So around 7 in the morning, Morten, Kevin, and a friend left to head back.  On the way back, our friend (who was VERY drunk) made the wise decision to break a store window with a stick.  An old man selling watermelons of the street nearby saw him, and stood up and yelled.  When he started to approach our friend, he ran away, stabbing one of the watermelons on the way.  He then turned on a street where we weren't going, and we lost him from there.  When we arrived at the station, kevin got a call from our friend saying that he had gotten caught by the police, and then beaten, but with no charges or anything (that's argentinian police for you)  I arrived home extremely tired, and slept until about 4 or 5 pm the next day.
